I'm back! And changes abound...

Well, well, well. I’m back. I’m sorry that I disappeared for a while, but as could be noted by the increasing frequency of guest comics, I was getting a bit burned out. A crazy summer schedule left me little time to relax, and the comic became more of a chore than a creative outlet. Things have finally started to settle down, though, and since I had some extra time this week, I thought I’d get back to drawing.

I have more time because I’m actually transitioning between jobs. You may remember that I started this comic while I was unemployed, and that I found employment back in May. Unfortunately, the employment that I found was not ideal, so I kept looking. Now I’ve finally found something worth investing in, and so I hope this will be my last job change for a while. The new job starts next Monday, while my current job ends today, giving me four extra days off this week (including Labor Day yesterday). I’m hoping this means that not only will I have updates for you today and Thursday, but that I will be able to draw a small buffer for myself to be published in the next few weeks.

And so, as Jon starts high school, I’ll be starting a new job. Changes, changes everywhere!

Newspaper Blackout Poems

For those of you who don’t follow Old Red Pen on Twitter (*ahem* maybe you should), check out this site! Austin Kleon writes poems by blacking out newspaper articles to leave only the words and letters he needs. It’s very cool, and definitely Old Red Pen approved. ;)
